DJ Chuckie Biography
DJ Chuckie, born Clyde Sergio Narain in Surinam, grew up in South America. He developed an affinity for remixing and later discovered his passion for Hip-hop and Electro House music in the Netherlands. His intrinsic ability to effortlessly cross over into various genres to work a crowd makes him a prominent DJ and producer.
His propogation of Amsterdam’s ‘Dirty House‘ music led to his own ‘Dirty Dutch‘ club concept. It grew into a massive Electro House night for 30,000 people and consistently sells out at Amsterdam’s RAI stadium.
Chuckie tours worldwide to famous events such as Sensation events in Europe, the LAVO in NY, Marquee in Las Vegas, and LIV in Miami. The mix king is also a regular at world renown festivals such as Coachella, Lollapalooza, SxSW in Texas, Fuji Rock in Japan, Creamfields in Australia, Electric Zoo, EDC, and countless other gigs in London, Buenos Aires, Belgrade, Montreal, and Stockholm. He was invited by David Guetta to his event at Pacha in Ibiza, the clubbing capital of the world. In the Summer of 2011, Chuckie became the new resident for Eric Morillo’s esteemed Subliminal nights at Pacha. Chuckie will also collaborate at the Dirty Dutch Invasion Pacha Parties and Café Mambo.
With the MOBO Awards of 2004 and 2005 in hand, Chuckie chalked up more hit singles and remixes. “Let The Bass Kick” reached No 9 on the UK singles chart and kickstarted his rise to fame. “Aftershock” and “Move it2 The DRum” with artist Hardwell continued to catapault Chuckie into the global realm. Soon after, he remixed with David Guetta and Bob Sinclair, with P Diddy’s Dirty Diddy Money, and dropped the only official remix of Michael Jackson‘s “Hollywood Tonight.” Chuckie also remixed The Saturday‘s “Notorious” and Eric Morillo‘s “Stronger.”
Chuckie has spent the latter part of 2010 and 2011 working on his own material alongside megastars such as T-Pain, Tinie Tempah, Kesha, Alexis Jordan, P Diddy, 50 Cent, Lil Jon, and Akon as part of a multi album artist deal with Atlantic Records,USA. He joined the BBC Radio 1 team in 2011 to present his “In New DJs We Trust’” monthly show. The show displays Chuckie’s brand of Electro House music to a massive global audience and has received the coveted TMF “Best Dance DJ” award beating out Dutch heavyweights Tiesto and Armin Van Buuren.
With his superb mixing skill and distinctive productions, Chuckie continues to take Electro House music by storm in Europe, The United States, South America and beyond. He is dedicated to spreading his exclusive style with explosive beats, surprise effects, and adulated climaxes.
