David Guetta Wiki
David Guetta Biography
Paris-native House music producer and club electrifier David Guetta has achieved major commercial success in music production. He has conceptualized, hosted, and performed at major parties and clubs in buzzing cosmopolitan cities such as Ibiza, Las Vegas, Miami, and his own hometown, Paris. Guetta has also collaborated with A-list artists including Kelly Rowland, Fergie, Kid Cudi, Rihanna, Usher, Akon, Madonna, Flo Rida, Nicki Minaj and many more. His work has landed him celebrity status, global number one hits, and a few Grammy Awards along his 26-year ride to the top of the music mountain.
Guetta’s career began in the late 80s and early 90s during the rise of Hip-Hop and early Electronica, House and Trance music. At age 17, Guetta was a nightclub DJ, spinning tracks at the Broad Club in Paris. When he heard a House track by Farley Jack Master Funk, his interest in producing music sparked.
In 1990, Guetta collaborated with French Rap artist Sidney Duteil on the album Nation Rap.
Throughout the 1990s, Guetta was a nightclub manager for Le Palace, where he continued to organize blowout parties and build his reputation as an elite DJ and up-and-coming music producer.
Starting in 2000, Guetta’s formula for success was evident: Do what you know, what you love and what you are good at.
He continued hosting parties. Some, such as his “Fuck me I’m Famous” party, are still ongoing events.
He steadily released House albums of original tracks to continue the growth of his fan base starting with 2002’s Just a Little More Love, an album that sold well in Europe.
In 2004, Guetta released Guetta Blaster, which drew the attention of other DJs and producers, like The Egg.
2007’s Pop Life was huge for Guetta. With the pioneering single “Love is Gone” to ride on, Guetta toured the world, performing for arena-size crowds in support of his work. His universal tour propelled the hit single to number one on Billboard’s Dance Music Charts, earned Guetta DJ Magazine’s Best House DJ Award and landed him the World Music Award for Best Selling DJ.
Two years later, Guetta dropped his bomb: the album One Love. The hit single from the album, “When Love Takes Over,” featuring Kelly Rowland, won a Grammy Award and recognized Guetta as one of the most sought after music producers.
Since his breakthrough, Guetta has systematically brought House and Techno beats to Pop radio stations around the world. He has collaborated with major Pop groups like The Black Eyed Peas. Their smash hit, “I Gotta Feeing,” produced by Guetta, was a number one hit in 17 countries and remains the most downloaded song ever in the United States.
Currently, Guetta is enjoying the success of his latest release Nothing But The Beat. Released in August 2011, this was known as a who’s who album. Usher, Flo Rida, Ludacris, Taio Cruz, Jennifer Hudson, Nicki Minaj and more all guest-starred on the album; singing, rapping and rocking out over Guetta’s beats.
Guetta is well known for mixing beats, throwing lavish parties, and spreading the epidemic of EDM, House, Techno, Tech-Hop and Pop music.
For the past two decades, Guetta’s consistent beliefs have led him to ultimate success: Keep it simple. Keep it honest. Keep it about doing what you love.
