AN21 & Max Vangeli Feat. Julie McKnight-Bombs Over Capitals (David Heartbreak Remix)
David Heartbreak is the definition of producer, as in his primary focus is producing. Whether it’s the “new” big sound or just some left field shit he decided to turn into a groove, his focus has always been just doing him and pushing whatever it is he’s feeling. I stress this because I feel it’s hard to enjoy your growth as a producer if you start to go down the path of producing what you feel a certain potential following will like versus producing what you truly want to produce.
A few days ago he sent me a preview of his remix of AN21 & Max Vangeli ft Julie McKnight’s ‘Bombs Over Capitals‘ and I have so much appreciation for the track. The remix is a bass-heavy yet mellowed-out flip on the original. I listen to a lot of EDM throughout my day so it can be over-saturating when a lot of tracks are pushing the same sound, but I can’t say this track sounds like anything I’ve heard lately.
Heartbreak combined high-pitched vox like 2000-esque hip-hop instrumentals with a darker Dubstep feel like the earlier, less-aggressive Dubstep tracks, and then laced it all with the hi-hats and groove of Trap. Araabmuzik meets Benga? I think so.
Well done Heartbreak. Continue to pioneer.
