Excision Wiki

Excision Biography

Excision was born in 1986 under the formal name Jeff Abel. He is best known for meshing the slow bass of classic Dubstep and Drum’nBass with cool Hip-hop vibes then adding the angry energy behind Metal music. Though his music has gained popularity primarily in the United States, Abel is originally from Kelowna, British Columbia.

His well-respected blend between hard Metal sound and deep Dubstep garnered over 20,000 downloads in 2006 alone.

In 2007, he released “No Escape” under his personal label Rottun Recordings. His recording label has since been picked up by famous, UK-based Nu-Urban Music Label.

Excision remixed Pendulum‘s “Showdown” in 2009, feeding fans the aggressive Dubstep they craved.

From 2008-2011, he performed at the Shambhala Music Festival and is listed on the 2012 line up. Following this stint, Excision toured the United States on the Subsonic Tour in 2011. He also played at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, held in the Southern California desert. Fellow headliners on this particular tour were Downlink and Antiserum.

In 2012, Excision rocked the North American X-Tour, which boasted bands like Liquid Stranger and Lucky Date. He is known for solo work, collaborative touring, and combined recording efforts, specifically with Datsik and Downlink.
