Kaskade Biography

Kaskade is an Electronic music producer and DJ. His work has been featured in USA Today’s and The New York Times’ Arts and Culture sections, both in the same year.

Entrepreneur, Ryan Raddon, is the man behind Kaskade and an instrumental part of OM Records. He is recognized for transforming the subculture of Electronic Dance Music into a phenomenon in the United States. His work is said to bring the appeal found in Europe to America. His motto: one show, one artist, one song, one remix, one beat at a time.

Born near Chicago, Illinois, Raddon found solace in House music. His career as a DJ began in clubs throughout New York and Salt Lake City. He also studied the music culture and evolution of the genre as he evolved personally as an artist.

With some credit to his name as a DJ, Raddon released his first self-recorded, self-produced material over a decade ago under the name Mechanized Records. The release was with his own independent label.

He also networked with Chris Smith, an A & R representative in San Francisco during this time. There, Smith, bought a couple tracks from Raddon to include in a label release.
Raddon relocated to San Francisco, the city commonly known as the electronic music incubator, shortly after meeting Smith. There, his career transformed.

Smith invited Raddon to help him operate his upstart label, OM Records. Raddon agreed, using the position to market not only himself, but also other artists and essentially the entire genre of electronic music.

In 2003, Kaskade was born. Raddon released his first album “It’s You, It’s Me” under the artist name Kaskade. The featured pulsating beats and smooth instrumentation.

Kaskade released “In the Moment,” in 2004. It paired heavy vocals with the evolving house sound. He began taking his music in a new direction and started collaborating with other artists in hopes of reaching a wider audience.

While producing, Kaskade kept his DJ career alive by performing across the country. He toured in San Francisco, Las Vegas, Miami, and New York City. In 2006 he released “Love Mysterious,” which earned him a spot on Billboard’s electronic albums chart.

In 2008, Kaskade achieved his commercial success with the album Strobelight Seduction. The track “Move for Me,” co-produced by Deadmau5, greatly contributed to Kaskade’s global success.

Kaskade released Dynasty in 2010. He collaborated with electronic artist, Tiesto, on the album.

Recently, Kaskade released a double album called Fire and Ice. The first disc, Fire, features guest appearances from Neon Trees, Skylar Grey, and Skrillex. The second disc, Ice, provides downtempo remixes of same tracks from disc one.

Kaskade is both a pioneering artist and activist for the genre. He has built his business and brand around creating memorable and infectious music. In addition to working with some of the biggest names in EDM, he also works with up-and-coming EDM artists.

Raddon has become successful within EDM and moreover is an established figurehead in the music industry as a whole.
